Consul General Nawata Visits a Textile Exhibition by a Japanese Textile Artisan

On September 26, Consul General Nawata visited a textile exhibition by Japanese textile artisan Chiaki Maki. Ms. Maki grows fibers, dye plants and hand-spins textiles at her Dehradun studio, “Ganga Maki”. In addition to holding exhibitions throughout India, she also exhibits in Japan. The Consul General, along with other visitors, admired the beautiful textiles created as a tactile, contemplative art form by Ms. Maki.
