Consul General Nawata attended an exhibition of Indian saris

On August 1, Consul General Nawata attended a sari exhibition held in the city and delivered remarks. Saris are textiles made in India using traditional methods and they sometimes feature motifs such as Japanese landscapes, wildlife and pattern. Japan and India have a long history of exchange regarding textile techniques, and the two countries have inspired and influenced one another. In his remarks, the Consul General touched on these points and expressed his hope that exchanges between the two countries will continue to grow.
