Consul General Nawata’s Courtesy Call on Dr. Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development of Karnataka

On May 21, Consul General Nawata paid a courtesy call on Dr. Sharanprakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development of Karnataka. The Minister explained that in Karnataka, the state government is making preparations to dispatch Indian workers with sufficient skills and language proficiency to Japan starting next year. Consul General Nawata stated that if this project is realized, it will bring economic benefits to both Japan, which faces a labor shortage, and India, which aims to boost skills development and strengthening its manufacturing sector. He expressed high hopes that this mutually complementary initiative will begin in 2027, the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and India.
