Opening Ceremony of Bengaluru Water and Sewerage Project (Phase 3)

On October 16, a ceremony was held in Malavalli town of Mandya District in the southwestern part of the state, to celebrate the opening of the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Project Phase 3 (Cauvery River Phase V Project) funded by Japan's ODA. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, and other ministers from the State Government. From the Japanese side by Ms. Hokugo, Minister, Embassy of India, Mr. Takeuchi, Director, JICA Delhi Office, and Consul General Nakane attended the event.
With the operation of the water purification facility, 4 lakh households in 110 towns and villages in the suburbs of Bengaluru will be supplied with tap water.
