Message from Consul-General, Mr. NAWATA Hiroshi

CG Nawata Consul-General Nawata
Let me introduce myself. I am Hiroshi Nawata, and have recently assumed the position of Consul-General of Japan in Bengaluru. This is my first assignment in India, but I am well aware of diversity in India, where 1.4 billion people live together in one country, respecting each other. I have been looking forward to working in Bengaluru, often called as "India's Silicon Valley."

Under “Special Strategic Global Partnership”, Japan and India have deepened the bilateral cooperation in various fields such as politics, security, economics and culture. With the aim of further strengthening and promoting these friendly and cooperative relations, the members of the Consulate is going to work together as one to expand economic, business, cultural and human exchanges.

In Karnataka, where is under the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru, many Japanese companies have expanded. We will strive to ensure that their business activities run smoothly. And also, as Karnataka is eagerly engaged in attracting investment, we intend to cooperate with the state to actively support Japanese companies, aiming to encourage more of them to expand here in the future.

On top of that, in order to ensure the safety of Japanese residents and travelers here, we will cooperate with the state government and security authorities to provide public security and safety-related information, and work hard to further improve and enhance consular services.

In addition, as we approach the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and India, we will make an effort to expand intercultural and human exchanges, increase people who love Japan or friends of Japan, and further develop mutual understanding and friendly relations.

I would appreciate your opinion, support and cooperation.
