In addition to the Qualifications and Conditions listed in the Guidelines, minimum of 65% marks at 12th grade are required
 
* Preference will be given to candidates with Japanese Language proficiency
Term of scholarship A grantee who studies at a preparatory educational institution prior to enrolling in a university:
From April 2022 to March 2027 (Including one-year preparatory intensive courses of the Japanese language and other subjects, which are necessary for the preparation to proceed to the university.) For a scholarship grantee majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or a six-year course in pharmacy, the scholarship period will be seven years, until March 2028.

A grantee who enrolls directly in a university, without the preparatory intensive courses (direct placement):
Four years (or six years for the one majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or in a six-year course in pharmacy). The scholarship period will start from the time of enrolment in the university, which the university designates.
Allowance 117,000 yen (Approx. Rs.82,978) per month
Education Fees Exempted
Traveling Expenses Round-trip airfare will be provided

Notes (details regarding the queries we have already received)

1 Please read the guidelines in the link carefully.

2 Please refer to the link for all the application forms.

3 Because of the current lockdown situation, if you cannot obtain the seal / signature from your school for your marksheets, first, please send us just the copies of your marksheets. After the lockdown, please send the hard copies with the school's seal / signature immediately.

4 If you are unable to undergo the required medical examination due to the lockdown, please undergo the same immediately after the lockdown and send us the results of the medical examination. Also, please send to us any other documents that you can submit first that you have in hand, for which the lockdown is not an impediment.

5 We believe that the applicant may be attending online classes. The applicant may request a recommendation letter from his / her class teacher.

6 If the additional documents that you plan to submit later (as in 3 through 4 above) are not submitted by the date we shall specify, your application will be rejected.

7 Depending on the status of COVID-19 in the future, please note that the acceptance of applications for the MEXT scholarship may be postponed or cancelled, or the application process may change.
