The Japanese Government Scholarship (Embassy Recommendation) for the year 2020 is now open for application.

1. For Karnataka Applicants :

>>  The scholarship benefits are:
     -Tuition fees waivered off
     -Monthly stipend (JPY1,17,000≒Approx. INR73,000/month)
     -One return air ticket.

>> Application Fee : NIL

>> (For Karnataka Applicants ONLY), please send in your application by post or hand delivered with the mentioned documents below in an envelope to this address :
      MEXT Scholarship Section, 
      Consulate-General of Japan in Bengaluru,

>> (Below is the simplified list of documents, as mentioned in the "Application Guidelines", to be submitted for applying)

1. Application Form  (1 original + 1 copy)
2. [*Optional] Direct Placement Preference Form [For those who wish to apply to courses in a specific university] (1 original)
3. Academic transcript(s) for all school years of school/university attended (2 copies)
    - Class 10 marks card 
    - Class 11 (or I PUC) marks card 
    - Class 12 (or II PUC) marks card  (* Only if completed)
4. Certificate(s) of graduation of school/university attended (1 original letter + 1 copy)
    - Letter on letterhead that is attested by current school (or PU college) stating that applicant is currently studying in class 12 (or II PUC) and is expected to take the exam in 2020.(*Only if not completed Class 12 (or II PUC)) 
7. Certificate of enrollment (*Only for those currently enrolled in a university for a graduate course.) (2 copies)
8. Certificate of university enrollment qualification examination (*Only if applicant has cleared any qualification exam to get into a graduate university ) (2 copies)
9.[*Optional] Certificate of language proficiency (Japanese and/ or English) (2 copies)

★Once shortlisted, applicants need to submit the below documents before the interview (not at the time of initial application) :
5. Recommendation letter from either principal or teacher of last school attended (Click for Sample)
6. Medical certificate (Click for Format)

>> Important dates :

★ Last date of application : 14th June 2019 (Friday)
★ Date of Exam : 13th July 2019 (Saturday) in Bengaluru
★ Shortlisted candidates will be informed by 30th September 2019
★ The final selection will be made by the MEXT and its results will be forwarded to the selected candidates by the end of January 2020, along with the name of the Institute/University.

2. For all India Applicants (including applicants from Karnataka) :

3 College of Technology Students Undergraduate level leading to Associate Degree (Diploma) 4 years
(3 years  Associate degree course + 1 year  Japanese language)
April~June Applications open for 2020 Last date: 14th June, 2019
4 Specialised Training College Students Undergraduate level leading to Certificate 3 Years 
(2 years  Associate certificate course + 1 year Japanese language)
April~June Applications open for 2020 Last date: 14th June, 2019

★ The exams for the above 3 scholarships will be conducted in Delhi for applicants from Karanataka.
