The “I Love Sushi” Exhibition (on display from August 5th -20th), organized by the Japan Foundation, commenced on August 5th at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath Art Gallery in Bengaluru.

Against the backdrop of the global boom in Japanese food, the theme chosen for the exhibit is “Sushi”. It introduces Japanese Sushi culture and its history in its entirety, through life-size models of Nigiri-zushi, a reproduction of a typical sushi restaurant counter, a reproduction of a Kaiten-zushi (conveyor-belt sushi) and many more exhibits. This is the first time the exhibition is being held in India, and over 1,000 people visited on the first two days in total. The visitors can also pick up a SUSHI MAP (listing 14 Japanese restaurants that serve sushi in Bengaluru), which was created with the cooperation of Japanese restaurants in the city.
