Visa Service from November 1st

From November 1st, Visa services will be handled as follows:
 
1 Applicants who are eligible for a visa: Those who meet the following requirements:
(1) Indians residing in India or third-party nationals who live in India and legally stay in India for a long period of time (permanent residents or holders of long-term residence permits.)
(2) A person who enters Japan via direct flights between India and Japan, or who enters Japan via a third country without entering the third country.
 
2 Purposes of visiting Japan for which applications can be accepted
(1) Purposes eligible for short term visa
 Activities that do not involve compensation within 90 days of stay in Japan, such as business communication, business negotiations, contract signing, after-sales service, advertising, market research, conference attendance, cultural exchange, interaction between local authorites, sports meetups, etc.
(2) For long-term stay purposes (holders of all Certificates of Eligibility except "Spouse or child of Permanent Resident" and "Spouse or Child of Japanese National".)
 Certificates of Eligibility issued on or after October 1st, 2019 are all valid.
 
3 Documentations to submit
(1) Documents to be submitted for 2(1) short term stay purposes
(a) Visa application form (with face photo attached)
(b) Passport
(c) Certificate of employment of the applicant (In principle, please submit the original certificate of employment of the applicant )
(d) Document stating the reason for invitation ( a copy is acceptable )
(e) Document for guarantee (a copy is acceptable)
(f) Written pledges (two copies) (created by a receiving company/organization in Japan)
(2) Long-term stay
(a) Visa application form (with face photo attached)
(b) Passport
(c) Certificate of eligibility (In principle, please submit the original one)
(Note 2) If you apply presenting the Certificate of Eligibility that has expired and has been issued on or after October 1, 2019, you must present a document that states that the Japanese host organization will “continue to follow the activities at the time of application for the Certificate of Eligibility”.
(d) Written pledges (two copies) (created by accepting companies/organizations in Japan)
(Note 3) Submission of a written pledge is not required for people, such as those who hold a Certificate of Eligibility for Activity of Medical Care, spouse or child of Japanese nationals, spouse or child of permanent residents. Refer to following details.
  • Spouse of a long-term resident who has been designated a period of stay of one year or more
  • A child of a Japanese person, a person who resides with the status of residence of a permanent resident, or a long-term resident who has been designated a period of stay of one year or longer, under the support of any of them who has not married.
(Note 4) For technical intern trainees, in the "Company name/ Organization name/ Department name", if the mediating organization is in the process of accepting, the name of the mediating organization should be written at the end of the pledge. If the receiving company accepts directly technical intern trainees without going through a supervising organization, the name of the company should be written at the end of the pledge.
 
4 Other Notes
(1) When entering the country, please install an app that will give you a separate document at the time of visa issue.
(2) To enter Japan, it is necessary to submit (a) the original or a copy of the negative certificate obtained after receiving a test for COVID-19 infection (PCR) within 72 hours prior to departure (b) a copy of the pledge is also to be submitted.
